RF POWER METER, RF-1

DESCRIPTION

The RF-1 is a hand-held RF Power Meter, that measures signal levels from –25 dBm to +25 dBm in a

frequency range of 1 MHz to 2 GHz. The RF-1 provides absolute power level measurements as well as

relative power level measurements.

All functions are controlled with a multifunctional button, labeled ON. Pressing the ON button once will turn

on the unit and start an absolute power measurement. Pressing the button again will have the RF-1 display

different functions to be selected: OFF, REL MEASUREMENT, HOLD, and BACKLIGHT. In order to

select any of these functions, the button should be pressed while the desired function appears on the display.

There are two connectors on the RF-1 Power Meter, an SMA RF signal connector and a programming

connector. The programming connector is for factory use only.

The RF-1 is powered by a 9V battery type MN1604 or 6LR61, with a typical battery life of 24 hours in

continuous operation with the backlight off. The battery compartment is accessed by removing four Phillips

head screws from the bottom side of the Power Meter.

The Power Meter can be calibrated using a 50 MHz or 100 MHz calibrated 0 dBm source and a

precision 10 dB attenuator.
